The IBS Tanzania region aims to conduct a series of workshops on Statistical learning with application in R,
which will increase efficiency in the correct use of statistical methods in routine data generated across LMICs.
The workshops will be streamlined from general(ized) linear models to advanced statistical learning methods and applications.
The call for the first workshop in this series is now open.
By the end of these series of workshops, participants are expected to:
Acquire basic and intermediate R programming skills.
Apply data management and analysis using R software with application to routine data; such as the demographic and health survey, health management information systems, HIV care and treatment, TB, child immunization, agro-data, economic data, social media, road traffic, marketing, and many other routine data across LMIC.
Select the appropriate statistical model to perform simple and complex analysis of routine data using R.
Acquire basic skills for reproducible research using R Markdown and version control (GIT) with application to routine data, research projects, and other relevant areas.
IBS Tanzania encourages attendance by statisticians with diverse academic and professional background, united by the thirst to learn using OpenSource statistical software R in routine statistical analysis.
Participants should have access to a personal computer (laptop) with pre-installed software as described in the Download section
