Workshop Program: Day 1

9:30am - 5:00pm Introduction to R

Topics to be covered include: introduction to the R environment, data wrangling, visualization with ggplot and reproducible research using RMarkdown with version control (GIT).

Workshop Program: Day 2

9:00am - 5:00pm Gaussian outcomes (Normal distribution)

Refresher on linear regression, r functions and loops, introduction to simulations all with adequate time dedicated to a hands-on practical session where participants will work in small groups on a dedicated dataset.

Workshop Program: Day 3

9:00am - 5:00pm Binary outcomes (binomial distribution)

Refresher on logistic regression and generalized linear mixed models, an introduction to machine learning (classification, crossvalidation), all with adequate time dedicated to a hands-on practical session where participants will work in small groups on a dedicated dataset.

Workshop Program: Day 4

9:00am - 5:00pm Poisson regression and Survival analysis

Refresher on Poisson regression and an introduction to survival analysis. Non-linear model fitting in R with a focus on optimizing user defined objective functions, all interpersed with adequate time for hands-on practical sessions.

9:00am - 5:00pm Recap on learning objectives and introduction to future topics
